Adopt-A-School Mentoring Program
Adopt-A-School is part of a national effort sponsored by the National Interfraternity Conference. Volunteer to tutor a child once a week at Clark Springs Elementary and A.V. Norrell Elementary Schools.

Alzheimer's Association - Greater Richmond Chapter
Find information on area resources for Alzheimer's patients, as well as support services for families and caregivers.

American Heart Association
Information on upcoming events and research programs, as well as useful medical facts.

American Lung Association of Virginia
Research and facts on lung-related disease, as well as volunteer opportunities and advocacy groups. A very comprehensive website.

American Red Cross -Greater Richmond Chapter
Learn what the local chapter of the Red Cross is doing to help our community. An online donation program is also available.

Cultural Arts Center
A non-profit agency dedicated to providing visual, performing and literary events, classes and educational programs for the metro Richmond community.

Elegba Folklore Society
Elegba is a not-for-profit organization in Richmond, Virginia dedicated to providing cultural arts and educational classes and events that offer a deeper understanding of the African American culture. A very groovy site with great color usage. Somewhat slow to load.

Emergency Shelter, Inc.
Emergency Shelter, Inc. ( ESI ) provides shelter and programs for men women and children by assisting individuals and families who are in a short-term homeless crisis due to eviction, relocation, unemployment, health problems and domestic disputes. ESI also provides long-term transitional help for selected high-risk men, women and children.

Goodwill Industries
Wonderful training and job search resources. This site also features information on Goodwill stores and donation operations.

ReStore - Habitat For Humanity
ReStore (operated by Richmond Metro Habitat for Humanity) offers mostly new, but sometimes used home improvement, L&G, and building materials at greatly reduced prices (50% - 90% LESS than normal prices for the same items. Items donated by manufacturer to support Habitat. All proceeds build Habitat Houses.

Henrico Humane Society
A well-designed site aimed at finding homes for homeless animals. You'll also find useful links, educational material and volunteer/donor opportunities.

Speedway Children's Charities - Virginia Chapter
A non-profit orgainzation dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children by supporting those qualified non-profit organizations that provide medical, educational and social services most effectively to Virginia, Maryland and D.C. children.
